Jeffrey Halpern currently serves as chairman of the board, chief executive officer and secretary for Minnesota-based Southwest Casino and Hotel Corporation, a company he co-founded in 1992. Prior to his work at Southwest Casino and Hotel Corporation, Mr. Halpern chaired the Securities Practice Group for the law firm of Popham, Haik, Schnobrick and Kaufman, Ltd., a 200-plus lawyer firm with offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Miami, Florida; Washington D.C.; Denver, Colorado; and Leipzig and Stuttgart, Germany. In his twenty-four years of practicing law, Mr. Halpern has been involved in hundreds of public offerings, and private placements of equity and debt securities involving hundreds of millions of dollars, representing both issuers and underwriters. Mr. Halpern also has quarterbacked the financing of many complex corporate ventures, mergers and acquisitions. In addition, his practice involved the representation of broker-dealers as well as the on-going corporate and securities representation of numerous public entities.
